Volunteer Opportunities

V.I.P. Initiative

Volunteers Inspiring Purpose (V.I.P.) is WGEC’s purpose-driven volunteer and leadership program. It empowers students to serve as change agents—leading with compassion, acting with intention, and inspiring an equitable, safer, and inclusive campus culture.

  • Volunteer: Be a proactive change maker committed to cultivating safer, more just, and affirming spaces on campus.
  • Inspiring: Through your engagement, spark action, model leadership, and empower others with compassion and purpose.
  • Purpose: Serve intentionally, grounded in equity, empathy, and the vision of a world where all identities belong.

As a V.I.P., you'll:

  • Engage in purposeful leadership and advocacy activities
  • Enhance event planning and communication skills
  • Build meaningful connections across campus
  • Cultivate empathy, active listening, and equity-driven teamwork

All ODU students are welcome! V.I.P. embraces individuals across identities, backgrounds, and experiences who are currently enrolled and eager to foster positive campus change.

Building for Belonging

V.I.P. volunteers are bridge-builders. They help WGEC identify gaps—spotting under-addressed campus needs, speaking up, and leading initiatives that uplift and unite our community.
