Winter Session courses are part of Spring 2026 -- When the Spring 2026 schedule is available, students looking for Winter Session classes should choose the Spring 2026 term and look for the Winter Session course attribute when viewing search results. Course dates Begin 12/15/2025, End: 01/02/2026.

Withdrawal Deadlines effective Fall 2023 (See University Catalogs)
Withdraw deadline for all non-semester-long courses (i.e., Summer sessions, Maymester, Winter Term, or 8-week sessions) is now the day prior to the last day of classes for that session (not the last day of classes).
Deadline to withdraw from semester-long (16-week) sessions without instructor's permission is the end of the twelfth (12th) week of classes. After the withdraw deadline, instructor permission is required on the Permission to Withdraw After Deadline form.
Please refer to the detailed calendar dates for each session (below) for the withdraw deadlines.
Students should use Banner Registration in to withdraw. Students with holds preventing any registration transactions may email register@odu.edu from the @odu.edu email address, with name and University ID Number (UIN) and the SUBJ/CRSE/CRN(s) of the classes to be withdrawn. A confirmation email will be sent when the request has been processed.
Requests for withdraws must be received by the deadline. Requests received after the deadline will not be processed.
